Information For The Homeowner
What We Do

We use infrared imaging to locate and document thermal anomalies inside and outside homes.  We also help property owners identify potentially dangerous and costly problems.  Our infrared baseline survey provides crucial information about the performance of an existing building, information that serves as a benchmark for tracking the integrity and performance of its different systems over time. We then prepare a simple report that you can understand.

Why should I choose this company?
We are vendor neutral, you choose the contractor.  Remember if you call an insulation company they will sell you insulation; if you call a heating contractor they will sell you a new furnace;  if you call a window company……well you get the drift.

We do the following:
  • Document and record for future reference location of studs and insulation.
  • Identify air leakage energy losses.
  • Reduce heating and cooling energy losses.
  • Detect poor electrical connection, overloaded circuits and other electrical imbalances.
  • Locate missing, improperly installed, wet or damaged insulation in walls, floors and ceilings.
These photos indicate missing insulation.  The straight lines are the studs behind the dry wall.  Also other places show where insulation has been pulled back and not seated properly so that convection occurs. Thermal Imaging
How We Do It

PREPARE >>> An initial telephone or face-to-face meeting allows our trained professionals to begin to scope exactly what the goals of the investigation are and prepare the equipment and team members necessary to achieve maximum results.  An initial brief is also created to give ourselves a "roadmap" to follow when we are on-site.

INVESTIGATE >>> Infrared Imaging Consultants will make a clean sweep of the area and document everything with specialized equipment.  Startling findings are usually available within minutes and may lead to additional areas of interest.  Our team will follow the brief created in Step 1 and work with you to cover all the bases.

PROVIDE ANSWERS >>> We will review and analyze the data and digital images we collected during the course of our on-site investigations.  These materials are formed into a comprehensive project report that details the problems and faults encountered.  Our reports illustrate problems clearly in terms that you will understand, while also providing the technical details that your vendors will need

STAY IN THE LOOP >>> At the point where other companies might disappear, we will continue to make sure that your results are working for you. Although we do not perform any of the work we act as a liaison with  contractors and vendors, making ourselves available for additional project-related consultation and undertaking additional reporting and investigative work.  We enter into our relationships with a long term outlook - our commitment to you does not end upon delivery.  We are a phone call away.
As a byproduct of the inspection you will receive either a written report, an emailed PDF file or a CD rom with a report of the conditions of the day when the inspection was done, ambient temperatures interior and exterior, thermal images of suspect areas and recommendations of how to fix those problems  with a list of recommended contractors that have proven their quality of work rectifying situations like yours.  You will also have an option to be retested at a significantly reduced rate to monitor the contractors work in rectifying the specific condition you repaired

Take charge of your energy concerns. Don't fall to the whim of every contractor that gives you an inspection.  Feel like you're in command! With a home energy survey you can see the entire heat loss pictorially that you can understand.  You can then determine where you want to spend your incremental dollar to fix the problems.
Call a heating contractor and you will need a new furnace
or air-conditioner.
Call an insulation contractor he will tell you  you will need insulation.
Call a window manufacturer you will be told you need new windows.
Amazing how that works.  You get the picture...

By getting an energy survey you can act as general contractor getting bids for individual jobs that will help you accomplish your goals.  Many of us do not have the monies to do all the projects at one time.  The energy survey helps you prioritize your projects to tell you where you get the most bang for the buck...it also gives you a baseline of comparison and helps you document before and after the work was done in case you are ever dissatisfied with the result.
Thermal Imaging Photo The infrared photo on the left shows symmetric round circles that are typical of moisture.  We are looking at damage from a roof leak that has not been detected yet.
